I grew up in Vinton, Virginia and knew from the age of 16 when I first shadowed a local doctor
that a healthcare career would be in my future. I was especially drawn to endocrinology after
seeing the life-saving role that endocrinology practitioners played in the lives of two close
friends.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, graduating magna cum laude with a
degree in biological systems engineering and a minor in biomedical engineering. I served for
four years as a sports medicine student aide for the men’s soccer team. I also completed
research in the Kevin P. Granata Biomechanics Lab and was the first author for an article
published in the journal Clinical Biomechanics. After graduating from Virginia Tech, I attended
Radford University Carilion’s physician assistant program. I spent a significant part of my clinical
hours at Endocrinology Associates, and this solidified my desire to work in the field and at this
office.
I am certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and
hold a Virginia Physician Assistant License. Outside of work, I enjoy Hokie football, country
music concerts, and traveling.
